Why You Should Never Skip a Sewer Scope – Even on New Homes
It’s that time again — time for a sewer scope inspection. This quick video highlights just how important this step is, especially when dealing with older clay sewer lines.
As we lower the camera into the line, it doesn't take long before we hit our first “whoopsie” — a slight offset and some debris buildup. Nothing catastrophic, but definitely worth noting. A little push gets us past it, but not without a bump.
Moments later, we hit a much bigger issue. An obstruction that clearly doesn't belong in a functioning sewer line. It's the kind of thing that can turn into a costly repair if left undetected.
The moral of the story? Never skip a sewer scope. Not for new construction. Not for vintage homes. Not ever. It’s a small step that can save thousands down the line (pun intended).
